Beginners' & Improvers' levels.
Note class only, there is no freestyle session afterwards
£5 on the door.
There is no need to bring a partner as we move each person around a circle every few minutes. Just make sure that for the Monday class we have recieved your membership application & you have pre-paid credits.
ALL classes will start promptly.
CLASS LEVELS
We teach 3 levels of classes and at the Monday class you can dance freestyle afterwards and practise what you have learnt. (9.00-10.30pm)
Beginners - Never done salsa before, then this is the class for you for the first few weeks.
Improvers - Mastered the timing and the basic steps, now you are ready to learn how to lead (men) and follow (ladies) basic turns, spins and cross body moves.
Intermediates - This is the class for those of you who can do the basic steps and turns without having to concentrate too hard! You will have mastered the timing and be able to catch up if you get lost! Ladies should be able to do a Cuban turn and single spin. Men must be able to lead a cross body move and the basic turns and spins as we will be moving on to more complex routines and double and triple spins.
HOW TO PAY FOR MONDAY NIGHT CLASSES:
We operate a pre-pay system at the Monday night classes, so you have to a) join online and b) pay in advance before you can attend.
How the system works:
Pre-paid credits are stamped on a card and marked off each time you attend. You can buy as many sessions in advance as you want and use them on any Monday evening so you will not be committing yourself to come on specific weeks.
When you buy your first pre-pay sessions we will issue you with a members pass which explains how the system works and how to get top ups.
To attend the Officers' Club you have to have a card with at least one pre-paid credit to be admitted, unless you just intend to dance after the lessons.
Subsequent credits can be purchased by sending a cheque made payable to 'Colchester Salsa' for the appropriate amount (£5 per pre-paid session you wish to purchase) to the address on the membership card.
(Colchester Salsa, 44 Evergreen Drive, Colchester, Essex, CO4 0HU) The card will then be available for collection from the next Monday evening at the class. The club is a members' only club access will be denied to non-members on Monday nights.
